Verification process

Real trails. Real evidence. Human review.

Verified Hikes records are independent evidence-reviewed completion certificates unless explicitly marked as partner-confirmed or authority-confirmed.

Step 1

Choose your trail

Read route-specific proof guidance and the current waitlist, invite, or controlled-capacity posture before you start.

Step 2

Confirm and pay

Confirm the certificate display name and privacy mode. Checkout is €9.99 when an application place is available.

Step 3

Upload private proof

Add GPX, FIT, TCX, activity links, photos, stamps, permits, or confirmation documents.

Step 4

Human review

A reviewer checks the evidence and may ask a clear follow-up question if the trail, date, or route variant needs context.

Step 5

Receive and verify

An approved record receives a print-quality PDF, signed metadata, and a permanent /v/{certificateId} verification page.

Accepted evidence

GPS/FIT/TCX/GPX files, activity links, trail photos, stamps, permits, guide confirmations, club confirmations, partner claim codes, and written completion narratives can all support review.

Privacy

Private evidence is used only for review. Public certificate pages never reveal uploaded files, raw GPS points, photo metadata, permit numbers, email addresses, or payment details.

Before you pay

Check the proof guidance for your trail. Evidence Reviewed means the registry evaluates the material you submit; it does not imply trail-authority endorsement. Most controlled-launch reviews target 2–3 working days after payment and upload.

If evidence needs work

You can answer a clarification request from your dashboard. Rejection means the available evidence did not support the requested certificate. Refund eligibility depends on review state and the published refund policy.
